Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-22
GEOMSHOT is a casual arcade game suitable for ages 9 and up. This policy covers the website and the GEOMSHOT apps for Android and iOS. We keep data collection to a minimum: an optional leaderboard entry you submit yourself, anonymous usage analytics, and family-safe advertising. We do not collect names, contacts, precise location, or user-resettable advertising identifiers.
Leaderboard (Firebase Firestore)
If you choose to submit a score, the nickname you type and your game result (kills, survival time, level) are stored in Google Firebase Firestore and shown publicly on the leaderboard. Submitting is optional. Please use a nickname rather than your real name.
To keep one leaderboard row per player, the game signs in with Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and it is used only to let you update your own score. It is deleted along with your entry on request.
Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated product analytics — for example which screens are viewed and in-game events such as game start, level up, or game over. This helps us improve the game. Analytics events are not tied to your real identity, and we do not sell this data.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Android and iOS apps show an optional rewarded ad (via Google AdMob) only when you choose to watch one to continue after a game over. Because this app is directed at children, ads are configured for child-safe delivery:
See Google's Advertising Policies for details on how AdMob handles ad requests.
- Only General audiences (G-rated) ad content is requested.
- Ads are treated as child-directed and are non-personalized (contextual only).
- On Android, the app does not use or transmit the Android Advertising ID (AAID); the corresponding permission is removed from the build.
- On iOS, the app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). Ad attribution, if any, uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork.
European users & consent (GDPR)
If you use the app from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, it presents a consent form on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Because the app is configured as child-directed, we do not ask for consent to personalized advertising — ads are always non-personalized.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: open Pause → Ad privacy settings in-game to bring the same form back.
To exercise your GDPR rights — access, rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing — write to seohcz1@gmail.com.
Children & Google Play Families Policy
GEOMSHOT is designed for a general audience that includes children (ages 9+), and we comply with the Google Play Families Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the optional, self-entered leaderboard nickname. Advertising shown to children is child-directed, non-personalized, and G-rated, and no advertising identifier is collected. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Local Storage
Preferences and game progress — such as language, mute state, and unlocked codex entries — are saved locally on your device (the browser's localStorage, or the app's equivalent local storage). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase (leaderboard), Google AdMob (ads), and PostHog (analytics). Please refer to their privacy policies: Firebase, Google/AdMob, PostHog.
